What makes a website earn? Understanding search engine indexing and algorithm

Tuesday, July 10, 2012

I could still remember what a friend of mine said about content, website, and traffic. He knows I write good articles with useful information but I do not have traffic because I cannot perform organic search engine optimization every day. SEO, like content writing, should be done every day. You need to get the right amount of traffic from sites where your target readers or niche customers used to hang out. If you intend to get just traffic, then you are wrong. You get lesser conversion from trying to obtain just any kind of traffic.

Search engines maintain a specific program called algorithm. They visit your website, index your website, and then categorize your website according to their program. This is one reason you need to optimize your website design and content first before you go build your backlinks.

Search engines love fresh unique content. You have to make sure that your content is 100% unique, well written with the correct grammar and spelling, and provide information useful to your audience. However, you need to keep the topics of your content strictly related to one another and following one niche. Otherwise, you will find problems trying to let the search engines see how you want them to see your website. Worst of all, you will find your website placed in the wrong category.

Building a network of links demonstrates authority. Put your links on relevant sites only. Relevance is purely determined by the similarity of your niche. They are very particular with the relevance of your site to the other sites linking to your website.

Search engines send automated programs called robots, crawlers, or spiders to explore your content for real time indexing. Deep links are being explored in this manner. They continually explore other websites as they follow your outbound links. The crawlers rank your website content according to their algorithm as they collect the precise picture of the articles and all other information on the page. Spiders may find your website from directories or paid submission pages. Yahoo said it indexed at least 80% of the web. Google said it already indexed over 8 billion pages.

Organic search engine optimization has been employed as a strategy to keep the robots coming back to your site and index your content. This refers to the process of modifying a site to achieve higher rankings or appear in the first page of the SERPS. The key here is providing useful content and easy navigation. The content, SEO, and design always go hand in hand to attract traffic and robots.

What could make your website earn online? Making money online is not easy. Before I thought, it is only a matter of writing articles and publishing them. Later, I realized it is a matter of providing what your users want and how to rank highly with the search engines. Organic searchengine optimization is the best way to gain traffic. Remember, regardless of how good your website looks and how great your content is, without traffic, you never earn a single cent!
